Clamp Cell for Low Temperature Applications
Part of the CryoDAC series
[Formerly Diacell D-07]
Product Description
The Diacell® CryoDAC-Mega is a very versatile diamond anvil cell. Made from BeCu alloy, it is suitable for both optical and X-ray diffraction studies at cryogenic temperatures. Due to its high numerical aperture it is well suited to use with FTIR and other types of spectrometer, whilst X-ray diffraction measurements can be made up to 2θ values of 25º.
The diamond anvils are mounted within force-fitted BeCu rings, and mechanically fixed to their tungsten carbide support plates, thereby avoiding use of epoxy resins or other adhesives, all of which tend to be unreliable at very low temperatures.
The Diacell® CryoDAC-Mega is held within two CuBe blocks. One of these is fixed to the cryostat cold station and also accepts the cylindrical DAC. The second block fits over the DAC and is used to apply load to the cell by means of four bolts. The diameter of the complete assembly is 38 mm.
